Manage saved repositories

Each workspace keeps a list of Saved repositories: every repository you open, clone, create or add from a scan while it is the current workspace is saved there and stays after its tab closes. Open them from the list, all at once, or remove one; its folder is never touched.

Before you start

Where to find it

  • The command palette: Add Repository to Workspace… and Open All Repositories in Workspace.
  • The Saved repositories list of the current workspace, with Find a repository and Add Repository….
ActionmacOSWindows and Linux
The command palette⌘⇧PCtrl+Shift+P

Steps

  1. Add repositories

Open, clone or create a repository while the workspace is current, and it is saved. Or use Add Repository…, or Add All to … after a folder scan.

  2. Open them

Select one in Saved repositories to open it, or run Open All Repositories in Workspace to open every one in its own tab.

  3. Remove one

Open the repository’s More actions and choose Remove from Workspace. Its files are not deleted.

Expected result

The workspace lists exactly the repositories you work on together.

The Overview columns

  • The checked-out branch, or detached or bare.
  • Ahead and behind its upstream (↑ ↓), or no upstream and upstream gone.
  • clean, or how many changes it has.

If something goes wrong

“Every result is already in …”

The scan found only repositories the workspace already has.

Questions

Does removing a repository delete it?

No. It only leaves the workspace’s list; delete the folder yourself if you want it gone.
