Inspect deployments and environments

A run that deploys shows Deploys to … and an Environments tab: each environment, its deployment, branch or commit and when. A deployment that waits shows Waiting for approval; if you are one of its reviewers, Approve Deployment… and Reject Deployment… act on it. These change things for everyone and cannot be undone.

Before you start

  • GitTree Pro or a running trial: CI/CD runs are part of Pro.
  • For approvals: you are one of the environment’s reviewers on the provider.

Where to find it

  • In a run: the approval banner and the Environments tab.

Steps

  1. Find the waiting deployment

A run that waits shows Waiting for approval: … with its Reviewers and any wait timer.

  2. Approve or reject

Choose Approve Deployment…, add an optional comment and press Approve Deployment, or Reject Deployment… to make the run fail at this deployment. Keep Waiting changes nothing.

  3. Check the environments

Open Environments to see each one marked Protected or not, with its latest deployment, and Open … on … to see it on the provider.

Expected result

The deployment goes ahead or is rejected, and you can see where each environment stands.

If something goes wrong

“You are not one of its reviewers.”

Only the environment’s reviewers can approve it. GitTree shows who it is waiting for.

Questions

What does Stop Environment do?

On providers that support it, the provider runs the environment’s stop job. It changes the deployment for everyone; there is no Undo.
