GitTree Docs
GitTree account and teams manual
Everything on gittree.app: signing in from the site and the app, your profile and settings, organizations and their members, your plan and payments, and support tickets.
Get started with your account
4 guidesOne GitTree account signs you in to the desktop app and to this site. The app asks you to sign in, and the Free plan covers every local Git feature.
Find your way around the dashboard
The dashboard on gittree.app is where you manage your GitTree account: Profile, Linked accounts, Organizations, Account settings, Subscription, Learning, Support and Downloads. The switcher at the top moves between your Personal account and each organization you belong to.
WebsiteRegister and sign in
A GitTree account signs you in to the desktop app and to this site. Sign up with your email address, which gets a six-digit code (there is no password), or with a supported Git provider (Continue with …). During sign-up you choose Personal or Team.
WebsiteSign in from the desktop app
The desktop app signs in through the website. It opens the website in your browser; you sign in there with your email or a Git provider, and the browser opens GitTree again, signed in. If it does not, the page shows a one-time Authentication code to paste in the app.
WebsiteSign out and handle expired sessions
Sign out everywhere… ends your GitTree session on every device: this browser, your other browsers and the desktop app on every computer. Git provider accounts connected in the desktop app’s Integrations stay connected, and your repositories are untouched. When a session ends, the site asks you to sign in again.

Profile and security
5 guidesWhat GitTree knows about you, how you sign in, which devices use your account, and how to close it.
Update your profile
Your name, handle and picture come from the provider account you signed up with, and are refreshed each time you sign in. Profile shows them with your Username, Email, Signed up with, Account type, the date you joined and your last sign-in.
WebsiteManage linked sign-in accounts
Linked accounts lists the provider accounts you can sign in to GitTree with: each is Primary, Linked or Not linked, with the date it was linked and its last sign-in. Linking more providers to the same GitTree account is coming soon.
WebsiteUse account settings
Account settings holds your Account type (Individual or Organization), the Session with Sign out everywhere…, Your devices (the desktop installations linked to your account), and Delete account.
WebsiteDelete your account
Delete account… permanently deletes your GitTree account, its linked sign-ins and your memberships; it cannot be undone. Before you confirm, GitTree shows What happens when you delete your account: Pro access ends at once, and minimal billing and device trial records are kept, so signing up again does not give a new trial.
WebsiteFind downloads and learning progress
Downloads offers GitTree for macOS, Windows and Linux; sign in to the app with the same account. Learning shows your GitTree Learn progress saved to your account: the lesson you saw last, what you completed and what you bookmarked. Progress made while signed out stays in that browser until you choose to save it to your account.

Organizations
9 guidesBring your team together: create an organization, invite people, give them the right role and keep membership tidy.
Create an organization
An organization brings your team together: you become its owner and can invite people right away. Creating organizations comes with GitTree Pro or a running trial. Give it an Organization name (2 to 64 characters) and a unique Short name of lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens.
ProFind and switch organizations
Organizations lists the organizations you belong to, your role in each and how many members they have, and Invitations for you waiting to be answered. Open one, or use Switch account, to see its Overview: its short name, members, creation date and Your role.
WebsiteInvite members
Owners and admins invite people from Invitations › Invite people: by GitHub username (they see it on their dashboard), by Email (we email them a link that works for the account with that verified address), or with an Invite link anyone can use until it expires or runs out of uses. Each invitation takes a seat while it is pending.
WebsiteAccept an organization invitation
An invitation link opens Join … on GitTree, with the role you are invited as and when it expires. Sign in (or create an account) and you come back to it; press Accept invitation. Invitations sent to your GitHub username or email also wait under Invitations for you on your dashboard.
WebsiteManage invitations
Pending invitations lists each open invitation with the Invitee (or Invite link), Role, when it Expires and, for links, its Uses. Revoke stops one working immediately; people who already joined stay in the organization.
WebsiteUnderstand organization roles
An organization has three roles. Owner can do everything, and only owners manage owners and delete the organization. Admin can edit the organization, invite, manage billing, remove members and admins, and change roles except to or from owner. Member can see the organization and its members, and leave. An organization always keeps at least one owner.
WebsiteManage members and roles
Members lists everyone in the organization with their Role and when they Joined. Owners and admins can change a role with Role of … and Remove a member; removed people lose access and can be invited again later. Removing someone frees their seat.
WebsiteEdit organization settings
In the organization’s Settings, owners and admins can change the Organization name (2 to 64 characters) and the Short name (3 to 39 lowercase letters, numbers or hyphens, starting and ending with a letter or number, unique). GitTree says Organization updated.
WebsiteLeave or delete an organization
Leave organization… removes only you: you lose access until someone invites you again, and the last owner cannot leave. Delete organization…, for owners, removes the organization, ends every membership and cancels its invitations; it cannot be undone from the website.

Plans and billing
12 guidesHow plans, trials and payments work, from choosing Pro to finding an invoice. Current prices are always on the Pricing page.
Choose a plan and understand access
Free is the whole Git client on macOS, Windows and Linux, with your own credentials, private repositories and commercial use, for anyone signed in with a GitTree account. Pro adds Nour, every hosting integration, AI drafting and creating organizations. Pro for organizations gives Pro to every member through seats. Current prices are on the Pricing page.
WebsiteStart an eligible trial
The free Pro trial unlocks every Pro feature once, with no card: nothing is charged and nothing renews. It starts only when you ask, from Start … free trial on the website or in the app, and is offered once per account and per device. When it ends you keep Free.
WebsiteChoose monthly or yearly access
Under Billing period, choose Monthly or Yearly when yearly purchasing is offered. Yearly is paid upfront for 12 months, with an extra percentage off after other discounts. Neither renews automatically: when the period ends, you choose your next purchase.
WebsiteComplete checkout
The checkout goes Account, Plan, Payment, Done. Choose Pro for me or Pro for my organization (with its seats), check the Order summary, add your billing details, and press Continue to secure payment. Card details are entered only on the payment provider’s secure page, never on GitTree. Nothing renews automatically.
WebsiteCheck a payment result
After paying, GitTree shows the payment’s status and Check payment status asks again. Payment confirmed means your plan is active. A payment still processing or waiting for confirmation must not be paid again. Failed or canceled changed nothing, so you can try again. Refunded or voided means the access it bought has ended.
WebsiteManage a personal subscription
Subscription shows your Current plan and its state (such as Trial, Active or Active, ending), when the trial or period ends, Where your Pro comes from, Automatic renewal, your Billing contact, Billing documents and History. Nothing renews by itself: when a period ends, access ends unless you buy another.
WebsiteManage organization billing and seats
An organization’s Billing page holds its plan, period, Seats, documents and history. Only owners and admins manage it. Every member and every pending invitation uses a seat; an organization pays for at least the plan’s minimum. Added seats are available once any required payment is confirmed; fewer seats take effect at the next purchase.
WebsiteCancel, resume or resubscribe
Cancel ends your trial or purchased period at its end: you keep access until then. Keep my subscription undoes the cancellation before access ends. After a period ends, Resubscribe starts a new purchase. Nothing renews by itself, so cancelling never creates a charge.
WebsiteApply an available promotion
When a promotion is open, the checkout and Subscription show it, such as Get … at … off. It discounts the period you buy while it is open, and nothing after its end. Some promotions depend on your country or plan; a 100% discount needs no card. Each offer can be redeemed once per person.
WebsiteFind receipts and billing documents
Billing documents records subscription periods, seat changes, discounts and confirmed payments. Each shows its Number, Issued date, Period, Total and Status: No payment due, Open, Paid, Refunded or Void. View opens the document; the price shown and the amount charged appear as on your checkout.
WebsiteRequest an eligible refund
A refund can be requested only within 24 hours of a successful payment, and only after the subscription is cancelled. While a payment is eligible, Request a refund shows when it is Available until. GitTree support processes refunds manually through the payment provider; your bank may take longer to post the money. The full rule is on the refund policy page.
WebsiteResolve a checkout or access problem
Billing errors say what happened and, almost always, that nothing was charged or changed. The usual fix is to review the fresh quote, add a seat, wait a moment and try again, or check the payment’s status before paying again.

Support tickets
3 guidesAsk the GitTree team a question or report a problem, and follow the conversation until it is answered.
Open a support ticket
Signed-in customers open tickets in Support › New ticket: choose What is it about?, write a one-line Subject and a Description, and press Send ticket. Only you and the GitTree team can read it, and we also email you when we reply. A ticket opened from the desktop app shows which version and system it was sent from.
WebsiteReply to and track tickets
Support lists your tickets with their status: Waiting for support, Support replied or Closed, and the last activity. Open one to read the Conversation, write Your reply and press Send reply. Close ticket when you are done; replying later reopens it. The link in every support email opens the same ticket.
WebsiteReview support information before sharing
A good ticket says what you did, what you expected and what happened, with the app version and system (filled in when you start from the app). Read anything you paste first: leave out passwords, tokens, private keys and private file contents. Crash reports and the activity log already remove tokens and passwords, but you still choose what to copy.

Account troubleshooting
4 guidesWhen something on the website does not work as expected, start from the message you see.
Sign-in did not return to the right place
Sign-in remembers where you were going and brings you back after it. When it cannot finish, it says why: it was cancelled, took too long and expired, the link was already used, or the provider is unavailable. Start again from the page you wanted; a desktop sign-in starts again from the app.
WebsiteAn invitation cannot be accepted
An invitation works only for the right account and only while it is valid. GitTree says which rule stopped it: the link is not valid or incomplete; it has expired, was revoked or has been used up; you are already a member; or the organization has no free seat or no running period.
WebsitePaid features are unavailable
Pro belongs to an account, or comes from an organization seat. If Pro features are missing, check you are signed in with the account that has it, that the trial or period has not ended or been refunded, and, in the desktop app, that it could check your access recently. Free local Git keeps working meanwhile.
WebsiteA ticket or document is unavailable
Tickets and billing documents belong to the account that owns them. For your privacy, one that does not exist and one that belongs to another account look the same: Ticket not found. The usual cause is being signed in with a different account than the one that opened it.
