Delete your account
Delete account… permanently deletes your GitTree account, its linked sign-ins and your memberships; it cannot be undone. Before you confirm, GitTree shows What happens when you delete your account: Pro access ends at once, and minimal billing and device trial records are kept, so signing up again does not give a new trial.
Done on gittree.app with your GitTree account, the same one you sign in to the app with.

Before you start
- If you are the only owner of an organization, make another member an owner or delete the organization first.
- If you may want a refund for a recent payment, request it first: afterwards you cannot sign in to ask (Request a refund).
Where to find it
- Dashboard › Account settings › Delete account.
Steps
Start the deletion
Press Delete account…. GitTree checks what deleting your account would end.
Read the consequences
Read each line, such as Pro access ending, a scheduled month being dropped, or organizations keeping their subscription with only your seat freed.
Confirm
Type your username where it says Type … to confirm and press Delete my account. Cancel is selected first.
Expected result
You are signed out and the account can no longer be used. The desktop app asks you to sign in again; your repositories are untouched.
If something goes wrong
“You are the last owner of an organization.”
Make another member an owner (Manage members), or delete the organization, then come back.
“Your account is closed”, but deletion is still finishing
GitTree is waiting for the payment provider to confirm cancelling a renewal agreement, and finishes the deletion by itself.
Questions
Is remaining paid time refunded?
Not automatically. A refund is only possible within 24 hours of a payment and must be requested before deleting.
