Register and sign in
A GitTree account signs you in to the desktop app and to this site. Sign up with your email address, which gets a six-digit code (there is no password), or with a supported Git provider (Continue with …). During sign-up you choose Personal or Team.
Done on gittree.app with your GitTree account, the same one you sign in to the app with.
On this page
Before you start
- An account with a supported Git provider, or an email address you can read.
Where to find it
- Sign up or Sign in in the header of gittree.app.
Steps
Choose the account type
On Create your GitTree account, choose Personal, or Team to create an organization at once; creating an organization comes with GitTree Pro.
Continue with your provider or email
Type your email address and press Email me a code, or choose Continue with … for your Git provider and approve there.
Finish
For email, enter the six digits and press Verify and continue. For a provider, review Finish creating your account and press Create account.
Expected result
You are signed in and land on your dashboard, or back on the page you came from.
Sign in again later
Choose Sign in and the same way you signed up. GitTree uses your provider account only to sign you in; it never asks for access to your repositories here.
If something goes wrong
“That code is wrong or has expired.”
Check the six digits, or press Send a new code. Look in your spam folder if nothing arrives.
“This sign-up took too long and has expired.”
Start again; sign-up must be finished within a short time.
Questions
Do I need an account to use GitTree?
Yes. The desktop app asks you to sign in before you use it. The Free plan covers every local Git feature; Pro, organizations and support tickets use the same account.
